Did you know that over 80% of the population has some form of gum disease. Gum disease is caused by bacteria which live in the plaque and tartar on your teeth. These bacteria produce harmful chemicals that cause your gums to bleed and recede.

We offer full gum and oral cancer assessment. Our highly trained and experienced hygienists will treat and help prevent gum disease.

If you don’t remove the plaque, your gums become swollen and bleed easily. This can cause pain and infection in your mouth.

If the gum disease progresses your gums detach away from your teeth to form pockets or gaps between your teeth and gums. These gaps are called periodontal pockets. These pockets cannot be cleaned at home and tend to become infected with more bacteria.

If allowed to progress the infection spreads and can cause your teeth to loosen.

Also studies have shown that bacteria found in gum disease are also found in heart disease and therefore may have serious health implications!
