Different Types of Dentures
At Perfect Smile Spa in Essex we like to offer our patients a variety of dentures. We understand that each person is different with different needs. Our Cosmetic Dentist and Denture Technician work cohesively together to produce the best quality Dentures.
The different types of Cosmetic Dentures we offer are:
Cosmetic Dentures – These are made taking accurate impressions and recordings of your mouth. Best quality materials are used and our ‘Extreme Makeover’ Technician will meet you to discuss in detail the shade and shape of your teeth. He will then carefully craft your Cosmetic Dentures.
Full Acrylic Dentures – These would be made for people who have either no upper or lower teeth or both. These would be made over five appointments.
Partial Dentures (Acrylic) - These are for patients who have few teeth missing. Partial Dentures are quick to make and are comfortable. Partial dentures last around 10 years depending on your oral health and diet. Anyone with missing teeth can have partial dentures.
Partial Dentures (Cobalt Chromium) – These are for patients who have few teeth missing. Some patients find these cleaner and more comfortable for the mouth rather than acrylic. They take a little longer to make than Partial Acrylic Dentures as they require special construction. They are stronger and last longer. They last around 10 years depending on your oral health and diet.
Immediate Dentures – These are made for people who are having teeth taken out and don’t want to leave the practice with gaps showing in their mouth. These last approximately 3 months. You will find that they will eventually start to get loose. This is because the bone is healing where the teeth were extracted. Immediate dentures can partial dentures or full dentures.
