Who should perform teeth implants?

Teeth implant as an option is considered by individuals who have lost their natural teeth due to a variety of reasons like mishaps, injuries, genetic reasons or diseases. In such a situation, the concerned individual should visit the dentist who specializes in cosmetic dentistry and discuss the various procedures with him so as to make a decision. The dentist on his part is supposed to inform the patient about the advantages and disadvantages of the various procedures and subject the patient to a complete dental examination prior to the procedure. When the patient expresses an interest in teeth implants the entire procedure of dental implants is explained to him. This entails cutting and lifting up of the gum area in which the teeth implant is supposed to be placed and drilling a small hole in the specified area. Then the teeth implant which is made of titanium is fitted tightly in the socket and the gum is stitched on top of it. A normal teeth implant takes three to eight months to heal and integrate with the jawbone but this time period depends upon the individual healing capacity of each individual. [More]
